Today I saw a spider in my bathroom. It has created a web next to the toilet and I think it will live there for a while. Although this seems like a mundane experience, it was actually very weird because before, I would look at bugs and freak out. Now (probably because I am desensitized to eating bugs), these spiders do not scare me and I am not afraid to get close to them. I don't worry because I know they are harmless. The elimination of my irrational fear must be due to my practicing of entomophagy. Just another reason why you should eat bugs! When you see them around you, you'll be less stressed!
Another reason why I thought of it as odd was because I felt like I was looking at food in the bathroom (because insects equal food and a spider is an insect). I do not eat in the bathroom; I think eating in the bathroom is kind of gross. So it was weird for me to see something that I could probably eat (a Daddy Long Leg) thriving next to my toilet.
I have a great idea (and another reason why we need to widely practice entomophagy)! We should just grow bugs in our homes, like in our bathrooms. Every American house can be an insect farm that will grow food for the household!
