How it Started

It all started with corn. When I was still developing my project, I was researching unsustainable agricultural practices in America. I mainly focused on America's corn industry, an industry that seemed corrupt in many aspects. Although quite a jump from what I originally studied, eventually, I ended up questioning America's unwillingness to adopt the practice of entomophagy.

I am promoting this practice for the sake of the environment. But this certainly does not mean that I am thrilled by the idea of consuming insects. I am a very average American; like most Americans, I found consuming insects appalling (and I still do with some insects). It took me a while to get used to eating whole crickets and mealworms.

American culture rejects entomophagy. I made this site with hope that it will inspire individuals to open their minds to this sustainable foreign practice.
